I think engineering students will be happy to hear this that IIT Kanpur announced a new thing about GATE to be held next year in 2015. As a/c to my knowledge every student pursuing in B.Tech 3rd year or final should know about GATE exam. GATE is one of the suggest-able & opportunistically exam. It has many features like-

1. A person who qualify GATE can apply for M.Tech or P.hd. admission & can avail the benefit of stipend provided by MHRD (Ministry of Human Resource & Development). Which values to 8k for M.Tech students & 10-15k for P.hd. aspirants. 
2. After qualifying this exam one can join or is able for the interview of some PSUs that are assigned with GATE exam.   

But this stipend is only available to those students who get admission in higher programs through GATE. 

Now for GATE 2015 exam, the conducting college is IIT Kanpur that announces some new specifications-

1. All Supporting documents should be sent online only. No hard copy will be accepted
2. Payments have to be made through debit/ATM cards, credit cards or internet banking and e-challan only 

Now the students are going to prepare for GATE 2015 & i hope that they'll do more and more practice to qualify this exam. Students can take benefit of validity of score card for three years. They can go for PSU jobs or for M.Tech program. The nice thing about this exam is that you can attempt GATE exam in any of the 22 papers. 

More & more students are increasing every year that try for GATE but few of them qualify the exam. The few students who qualify GATE exam are those prepare very very well or those who join GATE coaching institutes that provide coaching for GATE. By using these coaching institutes students enhance their knowledge & learn new short and very useful tricks to decrease the time consumption during the main exam. The coaching institutes also provide Online Exam facility to their students so that students can make better practice.

But the students who can't qualify GATE exam they join coaching institutes. They also try that path which take them towards GATE clearance. Today much more coaching institutes are available in India that provide or guide students for different exams that are held after engineering degree.
